SUPPORTIVE ROOMMATE The Calgary SCOPE Society is a non-profit agency committed to providing a wide range of high quality, innovative services that support people with disabilities to be respected, contributing members of Calgary's communities. Calgary SCOPE Society is accepting resumes for the position of Supportive Roommate with a female individual. In this position, support will be provided in your own home. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) assisting with all areas of daily living such as budgeting, household management, grocery shopping, meal preparation, transportation, providing health and medical support, monitoring mental health and providing emotional and behavioral support and support for community involvement. This individual has a history of addiction and trauma and will do best in a home with a female roommate comfortable with supporting her continued healing. She would like to live in the SE or NE parts of the city. Pets/children are not an issue. Please note this individual does smoke and will need a spot outside where she is able to do so. Qualifications: - A certificate, diploma or degree in Disability Studies, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, along with 1 - 2 years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities who have a dual diagnosis or an equivalent combination. - A valid driver’s license and vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage. - Training in Medication Administration, CPI and First Aid and CPR are valuable assets. - Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
