Summary

The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the marketing team by creating visual assets for digital and print platforms. Responsibilities include designing social media graphics, email graphics, monthly promotional assets, digital ads and various in-store signage.

The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, can adapt well to a fast-paced environment and demonstrates an ability to create engaging designs while adhering to our brand guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or certification in visual communication, graphic design or similar qualification
1-2 years of experience as a graphic designer
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign (Premier and After Effects are an asset)
Fundamental knowledge of design and good sense of layout, typography and colour
Proficient illustration skills
Experience with digital and print applications
Basic understanding of UI/UX
Experience with retail marketing and knowledge of pet ownership is an asset

Job Responsibilities

Create fun, engaging graphics for social media channels
Create assets for monthly promotions such as website banners, email graphics and in-store digital and print signage
Create image and video ads for monthly Meta/Google PMAX ad campaigns and vendor partnerships
Various day-to-day tasks such as updating product labels or in-store signage
Assist the Senior Designer with additional projects such as seasonal campaign creative, website design, swag, in-store signage, promotional material and internal marketing
Administrative duties such as file organization and task management
Collaborate with the team on marketing initiatives and provide support with execution

Schedule

Full-time (40 working hrs/week);
