THE ROLE: PETRONAS Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. NGL Marketing Representative to join our Marketing team in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Origination, the successful candidate will turn fundamental analysis into point-of-views and commercial strategies for NGL marketing opportunities in North America. This role will be responsible for building models and maintaining databases for market pricing, fundamental models, and reporting, as well as preparing presentation materials and ad hoc reports. The successful candidate will be a confident team player, self-starter with strong communication and critical-thinking skills, good economic thought processes, overall business acumen and the ability to perform under pressure with multiple deadlines. The successful candidate may provide direct or indirect leadership and will receive support from an NGL Analyst. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: Develop a liquids fundamental outlook for Western Canada and North American NGL markets which include creating a pricing point of view for each commodity (C3, C4 & C5) Develop technical (Excel, etc.) models to accurately reflect and predict market conditions and opportunities Provide short- and medium-term fundamental market views to support and provide marketing recommendations Design, present, defend and execute a liquids hedging strategy, within PETRONAS Canada’s Hedging Mandate, for PETRONAS’ NGL supply portfolio Manage ongoing PETRONAS liquids marketing business as required, including logistics (truck and pipeline), outage management and coordination with Operations, Supply Chain and Production teams. In coordination with Accounting, track and report on the value added from liquids marketing activities Provide support with position tracking Assist in presenting to PETRONAS upstream partners at quarterly marketing meetings Assist in presenting to PETRONAS Executives on an as needed basis Interact with external counterparties including end use customers, marketers, midstream companies, and pipelines Prepare presentation materials for both regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings Liaise with Accounting and Risk groups on marketing-related activities Other special projects or assignments as required WHAT YOU BRING: Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce or related technical discipline Minimum 10 years’ related industry experience, with preference given to relevant NGL marketing experience Strong fundamental understanding of North American NGL Markets Commercially-oriented person with strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills A solid understanding of economic theories and principles, and fundamental statistical analysis is considered an asset High level of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint Ability to work independently in an open-area environment and also in cooperation with a larger team Strong customer focus with very developed organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Open and honest team player with strong communication skills, and a positive and engaging personality Flexible, influential and assertive when required Job postings are typically only open for applications for two weeks so please submit your resume today.
