The Shop Appliance Assistant plays a key support role in ensuring smooth operations within the Parts and Service Department. Reporting directly to the Parts and Service Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing basic mechanical tasks (e.g., door swings, side venting, and minor modifications), appliance detailing, and general warehouse duties.
The ideal candidate will be proactive in maintaining daily shop work completion, supporting technician productivity, and contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient workplace. This role also assists with technician escalations as needed and helps facilitate timely appliance repairs and modifications.

As a Shop Appliance Assistant, you will:
Complete mechanical modifications on appliances (e.g., door swings, venting, minor retrofits)
Detail and clean appliances post-repair to ensure readiness for delivery or technician pickup
Complete all assigned tasks in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and update work logs accurately
Assist in staging, creating, and preparing parts or units for technician access
Support in-shop or on-road technicians as needed for heavy lifting, moving, or 2nd man assist.
Perform basic quality control checks before and after service work
Organize and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient shop floor, including recycling cardboard, metal, Styrofoam, etc.
Maintain shop tools and equipment, reporting issues promptly
Participate in H&S meetings, inspections and other seasonal programs assigned
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety policies and protocols
To be successful in this role you should:
Have a 1–2 years of mechanical or warehouse experience
Be physically capable of moving heavy appliances (over 100 lbs) using appropriate equipment
Have strong prioritization and time management skills
Be comfortable using systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, tablets, or scanners
Have an ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage multiple tasks
Have an excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Have strong attention to detail and ability to complete documentation accurately
Work Environment:
Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Based out of Annacis Island
Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays
