Conditions of Employment:
Enrolled in an Engineering Co-op program at a post-secondary institution.

Summary:
The STEAM Project Support Intern will work collaboratively with the Development team at Ulnooweg Education Centre. As a part of the development team, this role supports the creation of Ulnooweg’s community-first and culturally appropriate educational products and curriculum design.
In addition to development activities, the STEAM Project Support Intern supports the organization through the following.
Providing technical guidance to other teams within UEC
Delivery of advanced curriculum in communities across Atlantic Canada
Other STEAM related tasks, education and projects as directed by their supervisor
Responsibilities:
This role works collaboratively with education and engineering staff to support creation and modification to Ulnooweg’s educational programs, resources, and digital resources. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide introductory level support and education in CAD, 3D Printing and Robotics.
Support development of Ulnooweg's educational programing and curriculum.
Provide engineering and technical support to the Education Team’s projects and curriculum delivery.
Support project delivery in alignment with grant requirements
Occasionally delivering advanced educational programs and projects in communities around Atlantic Canada, to engage Indigenous youth in STEAM.

You are interested in teaching children and youth with a variety of skill and interest level.
You use a positive approach to your work and are genuinely concerned with advancing the rights of Indigenous peoples.
You are talented, personable, dependable, and an effective team player.
Qualifications
Some knowledge of any of the following: Python, Java, C, C++, block coding concepts, front end programming languages, web development, or microcontrollers.
Introductory software experience in areas such as CAD and CAM (3D printing etc.), robotics and electronic circuit design.
A demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and present it in ways that are accessible to youth encompassing a variety of educational experiences.
As all programs involve digital applications, comfort with digital applications, object-oriented programming, coding and applied fields of STEAM is critical.
