Your Role as a Design Project Manager
As a Design Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering transportation projects with precision and innovation. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading roadway planning, geometric design, and modeling using Bentley MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Ensuring designs adhere to state and federal specifications and requirements.
- Overseeing project deliverables, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
- Conducting quality control reviews for designs and submittals.
- Supporting all aspects of project submittals, from utility coordination to public involvement.
- Building strong client relationships through proactive communication and technical expertise.
- Driving business development by securing projects and expanding Civil Science’s regional presence.
- Mentoring and guiding junior staff to achieve project excellence.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a leader who combines technical skill with a passion for collaboration and innovation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License in Idaho or eligibility for reciprocity.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Technical leadership abilities and strong communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Expertise in transportation design-related software, including Bentley MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Familiarity with Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) design processes and specifications.
Preferred Skills:

- Experience writing proposals, managing contracts, and liaising with clients.
- Knowledge of utility coordination, environmental mitigation, and public involvement processes.
Location: Idaho Falls, ID
Compensation: $85,000 - $145,000 per year, depending on experience
