Ornge is seeking a Communications Summer Student currently enrolled in a post-secondary program studying a communications’ related discipline (e.g. Visual Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, etc.). The candidate must be entering their final year of study.
We’re looking for a creative, detail-focused student to join our energetic team. The ideal candidate is passionate about bringing stories to life through visual media and has solid technical expertise in photography, video production, and editing. In this role, you’ll be responsible for capturing high-quality video content, producingand editing video and photos, and working closely with different teams to create communications that inform, inspire, and engage our staff, stakeholders, and the public.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with team members to conceptualize and plan video projects from inception to completion.
- Operate cameras and other equipment to capture and edit high-quality video and audio.
- Research and write stories for Ornge’s website as well as internal and external publications.
- Use a variety of multimedia storytelling tools, including videography, photography, and graphic design applications.
- Assist with Ornge events and other communications-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a post-secondary education in communications (e.g. visual communications, journalism, public relations, video production, etc.). The candidate must be entering their final year of study.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual storytelling.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas and feedback within the team.
- Positive self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn and interact with Ornge staff, stakeholders, and past patients across the province.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
- Knowledge of video filming and editing.Experience using Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset.
