JOB INFORMATION

What You Will Do

Completion of post-secondary education (Community College Diploma or University Degree) in a relevant discipline, or the equivalent with progressively responsible experience in job related functions.
Sound knowledge of materials management and materials handling principles, methods and practices relating to the ordering, receiving, issuing, storing and management of materials
Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to supervise a unionized workforce is required
Ability to motivate and assess a skilled unionized workforce, and to administer discipline in accordance with the Collective Agreement and TTC policies
Must become thoroughly conversant with all aspects of the TTC's Stores operations, including inventory management, purchasing procedures and materials stocked relating to the operation of the assigned work location
A valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's Licence and will be required to use own automobile to travel to various locations
Availability for on call coverage as required and ability to report to various work locations and shifts intermittently as required
Previous Supervisory experience would be an asset
Certification in APICS (American Production \& Inventory Control Society and/or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) would be an asset
Must have or must acquire knowledge of departmental policies and procedures applicable to the work performed
Must have or rapidly acquire a thorough knowledge of the ATU, Local 113 Collective Agreement and Maintenance Seniority Regulations and relevant government legislation or regulations
The incumbent will also be required to complete various courses in effective supervision, and other courses related to the work
