Position Summary
General Duties
- Participates in designing studies and recommending analytical strategies,
- Performs literature review to learn about gold standard data analysis methods,
- Cleans datasets, and codes and manages data,
- Writes scripts, runs analyses, and visualizes data,
- Solves problems regarding data analysis,
- Troubleshoots and adapts published methodologies,
- Prepares data for a variety of projects, and creates figures for papers, posters, and more,
- Supervises and trains several trainees in their quantitative research projects,
- Works on research protocols, and grants to be submitted to federal / provincial / others funders and ethics committees,
- Presents their work at internal and potentially local, national, and international meetings,
- Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.

Required Skills
- Must have demonstrable experience in programming in R, Python, and Unix/bash,
- Proficiency in study design/development, and data models,
- Experience analyzing high-throughput genomic, epigenomic and transcriptomic data (e.g., microarray data, next generation sequencing data) supported by published peer-reviewed studies,
- Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations,
- Attention to detail and accuracy,
- Good analytical and logic skills,
- Autonomy (with minimum supervision after appropriate training), initiative, creativity, curiosity,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
