We are currently seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Architecture to lead our condominium construction division.
Role Overview:The Director of Architecture for Condominium Construction will oversee all architectural design and planning for condominium projects from concept to completion. This senior leadership role requires extensive experience in condominium design, strong management skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including clients, engineers, consultants, and the construction team. The Director of Architecture will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of design, sustainability, and construction feasibility while ensuring that projects meet budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership \& Team Management:Lead and mentor a dynamic team of architects, designers, and technical experts in the development of condominium projects. Establish clear goals, timelines, and performance metrics for the architectural team. Provide direction on architectural strategies, ensuring that all designs align with the company's vision, goals, and project requirements.
Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment to inspire creativity and excellence in design. Project Oversight \& Design Development:Direct the architectural design of condominium projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory codes, zoning laws, and industry standards. Oversee the development of design concepts, schematic drawings, and final architectural plans, ensuring the highest standards of quality, functionality, and sustainability.
Manage the integration of all design elements, including space planning, structural requirements, mechanical systems, and interior design. Guide the development of condo units that maximize value and appeal to prospective buyers while maintaining structural and aesthetic integrity. Serve as the primary architectural liaison with clients, developers, consultants, and contractors.
Participate in client meetings, design presentations, and review sessions, addressing feedback and aligning design solutions with client needs. Work closely with the project management team to ensure that designs meet client expectations and project goals. Manage and negotiate design modifications with clients, engineers, and external partners.
Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards. Oversee the permitting and approval process with local authorities and other regulatory bodies. Proactively address potential risks in design and construction, working with the team to identify solutions and mitigate challenges.
Keep up-to-date with the latest architectural trends, building technologies, and design innovations, incorporating them into condo projects when appropriate. Ensure that all milestones in the design process are met, from initial concept through construction completion. Conduct regular design reviews and site inspections to ensure that construction aligns with approved plans and specifications.
Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture. Professional licensure as an architect OAA required. Experience:Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on condominium and residential projects.
Proven experience managing condominium projects from concept through construction. Strong background in both the design and construction phases, with a focus on ensuring constructability and design feasibility. Experience in managing architectural teams and leading cross-functional collaboration between architects, engineers, consultants, and construction teams.
Skills \& Competencies:Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards for residential buildings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and designs to clients and stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources while maintaining quality and client satisfaction. Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Personal Attributes:Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
