Synopsis of the role.
The Head of EPMO will be responsible for establishing and maintaining best-in-class project management practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record of managing complex projects and building a high-performing project management team.
What You Will Do
Strategic Leadership \& Governance:
- Develop and implement an enterprise-wide project management methodology aligned with industry best practices (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Lean).
- Establish and maintain a robust project governance framework, including project intake, prioritization, and portfolio management.
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance to project managers and stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure projects are aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and contribute to achieving business outcomes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure EPMO effectiveness and project success.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on portfolio performance and project status.
- Provide regular project financial forecasts and manage change requests aligned with budgets and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and tools.
Project Intake \& Planning:
- Establish and manage a standardized project intake process, including business case development and project prioritization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate project kickoff meetings and ensure clear communication of project expectations.
- Manage portfolio level planning and ensure resource capacity is properly allocated.
Project Execution \& Monitoring:
- Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers, resolving issues and removing roadblocks.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and issues.
- Implement change management processes to manage project scope changes.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.
- Enforce project management standards and best practices across the organization.
- Manage project reporting and communication, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of project status.
Team Leadership \& Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing EPMO team.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to project managers and team members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Identify training and development needs for the EPMO team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
What experience and you need:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

10 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles overseeing large-scale projects or programs.

Fintech/Financial Services experience required

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong background in stakeholder management at all levels, including executives and external partners.

Proven experience establishing and scaling a PMO in a fast-paced high growth environment.

Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and aligning project strategies with business goals.

Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management for enterprise wide initiatives.

Experienced with working with project management software tools (Jira, MS Project etc.)

Extremely well organized, a team player, self-starter and results oriented
