About this opportunity
We are looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our Toronto team responsible for managing interactive and automatic cloud services for Invisalign treatment planning. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues from a larger Treatment Planning group, as well as with clinical and product experts, to deliver new automatic and doctor-oriented solutions for Invisalign treatment planning.
In this role, you will...
- Work in an agile team of developers and SQA engineers, and collaborate with platform DevOps and other development teams.
- Interact closely with project managers and product owners to understand requirements and targets for cloud infrastructure.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, Terraform deployment scripts, monitoring and diagnostic systems and dashboards.
- Perform deployments of critical production software using safe practices of canary and green/blue rollouts.
- Contribute to software design and architecture, build flexible, efficient and scalable cloud solutions.
- Write and update technical documentation for deployments and environments.
- Identify/mitigate risks and participate in production monitoring and support as needed.
In this role, you'll need...
- Bachelor or above degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field, or Equivalent experience in commercial software development.
- 8+ years in software development, DevOps or SQA roles.
- At least 4 years in DevOps role for back-end or full-stack development teams with AWS as cloud platform.
- Strong knowledge of cloud specific technology stack and services; GIT, Terraform, Helm Charts, Splunk, Lambdas or equivalents.
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration, with a preference for AWS EKS and Dockers.
- Strong understanding of messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS/SNS etc.
- Familiarity with build and deployment automation tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.
- Understanding of software architectural and design principles from cloud perspective.
- Strong knowledge of Python, Shell Scripting and working knowledge SQL.
- Experience in Linux, cross-platform, and cloud-based software development environment.
- To be highly motivated, creative, self-starter, with excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and a "can do" attitude.
- Thrives in a high-paced, multi-task environment.
Nice to haves...
- Knowledge of Java, C# or C++, Visual Studio development environment.
- Knowledge of tools, methodologies, and frameworks for automatic software testing.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries (such as Banking, Financial, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Aerospace, etc.).
