About the role
The Long-Haul Trucking Claims team is looking for a Long Haul Trucking Claims Adjuster (APD) to join them on a 12-month secondment!
In this role, you will be responsible for investigating both routine and complex physical damage and cargo claims, ensuring prompt and fair settlements.
This position is available in Calgary or Edmonton.
What you'll do here:
- Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable.
- Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, brokers, claimants, lawyers, and other insurers to resolve claims.
- Investigate and settle Cargo and environmental losses.
- Manage losses throughout Canada and US.
- Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements.
- Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure.
What you bring to the table:
- A college diploma or a university degree is an asset.
- Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
- A minimum of 2 years experience adjusting commercial auto claims, Long Haul Trucking an asset.
- Ability to handle or oversee moderate to complex claims.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- A friendly and positive attitude.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of the provincial legislation governing auto insurance.
- Atlantic Provincial Licenses an asset.
