Qualifications:

Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
Must have a minimum of 1 year current or recent clinical experience within the last year in an Emergency or Critical Care setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Must complete Coronary Care 1 within one year of start date.
Demonstrate the ability to competently assess the patient, intervene appropriately.
Demonstrate the knowledge, experience and ability to provide care for patients with a variety of needs including but not limited to : initiation and maintenance of IV's, venipuncture, administration of medication delivered via various routes, blood and blood product administration, patient controlled analgesia, capillary blood glucose monitoring, NG tubes, chest tubes, enteral feeds, wound management, oxygen therapy.
Demonstrate ability to function effectively in emergency situations.
