About the role
As a Claims Specialist, Property, you will work with customers who have experienced a loss to their commercial property, helping them through the claims process. Working with vendors, adjusters, and other experts, you will demonstrate empathy, strong listening skills, business acumen, and organizational effectiveness as you manage a wide variety of Commercial claims through to completion.

What you'll do here:
- Analyze information gathered, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage
- Develop an action plan to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed
- Manage all financial components of the claim, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements in line with Intact's policies and standards
- Ensure clear and concise information and direction is provided to vendors
- Work with experts including appraisers, engineers and others to help drive progress throughout the claim
- Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries relating to the claims process
- Keep up to date on Intact's insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service
What you bring to the table:
- 2-5 years claims adjusting experience -- commercial handling is an asset
- Xactanalysis experience is an asset
- Basic construction knowledge is an asset
- Adaptable and agile in a rapidly evolving business
- Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- A forward thinker who is able to foster new ideas
- Superior organizational skills and results-driven
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict management skills
- Ability to learn and work effectively in a hybrid or remote environment
- Work on files outside of a call centre / queue environment
