Description
The Carlstar Division of Titan International is seeking a Human Resources Generalist based out of the Waterloo, Ontario corporate office. This role reports directly to the General Manager of Canada and will be responsible for oversight of the HR program for the Canadian population, including payroll, employee relations, talent acquisition, and general office work including purchasing and ISO compliance. The successful candidate in this role will be an excellent communicator, well organized, and have advanced problem-solving skills, including a well-rounded knowledge of HR, Payroll, and general office management across multiple Canadian provinces.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manages talent acquisition process for all Canadian locations including sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, coordinating interview process, and onboarding new employees.
- Coordinates payroll process using Paycom HRIS system on a weekly basis including ensuring time card approval, payroll processing, reporting completion, and coordination with finance to ensure payroll funding accurately each week.
- Coaches and counsels employees by conducting investigations, addressing concerns, mediating conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment for all levels of employees.
- Provides HR policy review, interpretation, and adaptation to federal, provincial, and local laws as needed.
- Oversees administration of compensation and benefit programs including maintaining employee records and HR documentation, administration of health and wellness programs, pension, and other employee benefits as necessary.
- Assists in oversight and management of performance review processes and employee development initiatives; including organizing training programs and supporting employee development while maintaining all compliance requirements.
- Supports workplace health and safety initiatives including alignment with organizational standards in accordance with federal and local compliance requirements.
- Performs general office work such as purchasing, ISO audit requirements, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- 3+ Years Experience in Human Resources preferably in a Distribution, Logistics, or Manufacturing environment including strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws across multiple provinces.
- CHRP Certification strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated advanced interpersonal and coaching skills including conflict resolution and change management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based HRIS systems. Paycom experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills required, including ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work independently.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and mathematical skills required.
