What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Data Governance, you will play a critical role in managing the complex and broad business activities of a large team, driving maximum value and establishing sustainable business practices within the Enterprise Data Governance team. The Senior Business Manager will be a motivated leader who thrives on creating and sustaining a climate of inclusion, trust, and productivity. You will build strong relationships with individuals within the Chief Data Office and across Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Functional Groups (FGs), and be responsible for establishing and maintaining successful daily business practices, including owning the management and support of enterprise wide data community interactions through data forums, councils, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint sites, as appropriate.
This position requires a motivated leader who excels in providing visibility and ensuring that all team members are informed and on track. You will also be responsible for positioning the team effectively within the larger department and across the enterprise.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You'll Succeed

Planning and organization -- Leverage strong planning and organization skills to ensure timely, accurate and complete delivery of commitments. Support the planning and execution of key executive forums, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.

Interpersonal Relationships -- Utilize knowledge of collaborative approaches, tools and techniques to work effectively with individuals and groups. Utilize skills to create and manage SharePoint sites, shared mailboxes, and other intake processes to facilitate internal business interactions.

Program coordination -- Manage agendas, compile materials, take minutes, and follow up on action items to adhere to delivery timelines. Oversee and manage the daily operational activities of the Enterprise Data Governance team to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Continuous learning -- Stay informed and engaged as a subject matter expert on data-related regulatory requirements, organizational policies and standards, as well as industry best practices.

Relationship Management - Build strong relationships with the teams within Chief Data Office, and Data Community across CIBC, ensuring clear understanding of opportunities and challenges. Support the management of requests, inquiries, and deliverable timelines to keep all activities on track, developing and maintaining a delivery roadmap and progress reporting.

Product Ownership -- Develop deep knowledge and understanding of Data policies, standards, and procedures and take accountability for the development and maintenance of an integrated business delivery roadmap.
Who You Are

You demonstrate experience in. Business management, business strategy and delivery, and are familiar with data governance framework or related discipline (Data, Analytics, Computer Science), or a combination of training and experience.
