Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Transmission Pipelines Business Unit (TBU), part of Pembina's Pipeline Business Division is actively hiring for a Logistics Analyst to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Logistics, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers to execute transactions on the Alliance Pipeline system including nominations, imbalance trading, confirmations, and allocations.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Support Pembina's safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the "Life Saving Rules".
- Assist customers in execution of transactions including nominations, imbalance trading and Pre-Determined Allocation (PDA) entry;
- Analyze the pipeline nomination process for accuracy, reasonability, and pipeline capacity;
- Execute gas scheduling processes to ensure consistent and accurate scheduling of the pipeline;
- Support customers in accessing transportation and hub services;
- Respond to customer queries providing technical advice and problem solving for customers;
- Resolve customer complaints and requests;
- Provide training to customers on system and business policies/procedures;
- Investigate and explain complex scheduling and balancing cuts to customers and provide strategies to optimize utilization of services on Alliance Pipeline;
- Analyze and reconcile customer inventory data;
- Monitor shipper inventory accounts and assist them in the management of those imbalances;
- Ensure compliance with transportation tariffs and other regulatory requirements;
- Consult with operators to ensure daily and monthly information is exchanged in a timely and accurate manner;
- Provide analysis on daily scheduling capacities for reporting to management;
- Ensure accuracy of daily and monthly shipper activity and confirmed volumes;
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with customers and point operators;
- Have in-depth knowledge of FERC and NAESB rules and regulations;
- Maintain scheduling procedures and training manuals;
- Onboard and train new connected facility operators;
- Work with Commercial and I.S. Analysts to identify and support the timely resolution of commercial system issues;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering or equivalent operations experience;
- 3+ years of natural gas industry experience;
- Exceptional customer service skills, business acumen with an entrepreneurial attitude;
- Natural gas transportation industry and major pipelines;
- NAESB Wholesale Gas Quadrant Business Practice Standards;
- FERC and NEB natural gas transportation regulations; and
- Gas Pipeline Transportation Tariffs and related business practices.
- Strong analytical skills for system and process development;
- Knowledge of gas transportation business including transportation contracts, nominations, marketing, and scheduling processes;
- Exceptional communication skills and discretion required to deal with sensitive nature of operational and commercial issues of pipeline;
- Proficient in Office Suite with advanced Excel skills;
- Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Power Automate would be an asset;
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills with demonstrated ability to be pro-active in identifying potential issues and providing solutions;
- Organized, detailed, analytical and able to consistently deliver accurate and timely information;
- Adaptable to changing priorities and proven ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines;
- Must be able to work a modified shift schedule which includes evenings, weekends and holidays;
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage, negotiate and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and at all levels within an organization; and
- Ability to thrive in a very busy, dynamic and deadline driven environment.
Pembina's Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays.
