Job SummaryReporting to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs (Canada), the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent Medical Affairs and provide field scientific expertise to healthcare professionals (HCPs) in compliance with all policies, regulations, and guidelines. A successful candidate is responsible for providing fair balanced, objective, scientific information and appropriate product education to HCPs for all Arcutis marketed and investigational products and will also serve as a product/therapeutic area expert to internal business partners, ensuring scientific and training requirements as needed. The MSL is responsible for building relationships with recognized Dermatology OLs, researchers, and institutions, with the ability to identify and address scientific communication needs and stay abreast of the current scientific trends and publications.
The territory for this position is the province of Ontario, Canada. Roles \& ResponsibilitiesExecutes approved field scientific support activities, and provide accurate and fair balanced scientific information to Dermatology OLs and other HCPs using approved scientific materials
Provides accurate, informative, fair-balanced, and compliant response(s) to unsolicited medical information requests (MIRFs) from HCPsProvides scientific support/coverage of national and regional medical meetings/congresses ensuring compliant OL interactions
Works collaboratively with key internal stakeholders including marketing, sales, market access, clinical/R\&D and regulatory
Executes on strategic Medical Affairs initiatives by implementing tactics in support of department priorities, as assigned; able to assess and identify current and new opportunities, respectively, that are aligned with Medical Affairs strategy
Regularly uses CRM business tool to capture appropriate medical insights and OL interactions as per company policy
Education \& Licenses and ExperienceAdvanced degree in biomedical sciences (eg. MSc, MD, PhD, PharmD, NP) and minimum 3+ years of MSL experience with at least 1 year in Dermatology required.Competencies \& SkillsStrong interpersonal skills and ethics with an ability to interact and collaborate compliantly and effectively with external and internal stakeholders required
Working knowledge of drug development, regulatory approval processes, clinical trial methodologies, and guidelines is required
Working knowledge of Canadian healthcare systems, regulatory and commercial compliance issues relating to research conduct, interactions with HCPs, and dissemination of scientific information preferred
Excellent project management, budget management, and organization skills required
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and other basic database (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM)) and online and virtual collaboration software is required
Capability to work independently or in a team structure and to adjust effectively to work within new structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
Excellent collaboration and written/oral communication skills requiredAbility to work independently and function in a rapid paced, high pressure environmentWorking ConditionsMust be willing and able to travel approximately 50% within region, including overnight travel. Other travel for business meetings or conferences may also be required. Must live within the
