Job Summary: The client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Estimator to join the team.
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, ensuring that all estimates are comprehensive and competitive. This role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project completion within budget. Key Responsibilities:Assess and analyze blueprints, plans, and other project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and location. Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure comprehensive cost estimation. Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Prepare detailed reports or bids for management, clients, or project teams. Keep track of the latest industry trends and advancements. Coordinate with team members on work progress and cost reporting.
Present and explain estimates to clients and stakeholders, addressing any questions and concerns. Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors. Review project schedules and timelines to ensure they align with cost projections.
Monitor project progress to ensure costs remain within budget. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the ICI sector.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Knowledge of LEED principles and sustainable construction practices is a plus.
