Aerospace Systems Engineer -- Hydro-Mechanical Systems
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydro-Mechanical Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and certification efforts for aircraft hydro-mechanical systems. This is a highly technical and hands-on leadership position that will play a key role in supporting production, field operations, and certification efforts. You will get to expand your skills in the following areas.
- Reviewing and approving design documentation, vendor drawings, test procedures, and qualification reports.
- Preparing and defining system-level specifications and certification plans for new designs.
- Provide findings of compliance under Transport Canada delegation, and seek delegation in other applicable areas.:
- Evaluating and selecting system proposals and components based on performance, weight, reliability, and safety.
- Identifying and planning rig, ground, and flight tests necessary to certify systems..
- Investigating and resolving in-service and airworthiness issues related to hydro-mechanical systems.
- Coordinating root cause analysis and corrective actions for field and operational challenges.
You will need to have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in the design, qualification, and certification of aircraft hydro-mechanical systems.
- Solid knowledge of TCCA, EASA, and FAA certification regulations and practical experience with regulatory authorities.
- Strong understanding of system-level integration, including pumps, valves, actuators, manifolds, and tubing.
- Familiarity with SAE standards and aerospace industry design practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and system simulation tools.
- Willingness to travel to flight test sites, vendors, or operators as required.
