Position Description
The Manager -- Operational Technology will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Eneon's Operational Technology (OT) assets. This individual will ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency of these systems while working closely with cross-functional teams to support and optimize key technology platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage Eneon's OT assets following industry best practices.
- Configure, manage, and administer OT assets, including but not limited to routers, modems, IPCs, VPN networks, and cellular WAN.
- Maintain and update OT inventory of critical systems, storing configurations in a centralized system.
- Deploy and maintain cloud systems.
- Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policies).
- Integrate PLCs and Industrial Control System devices into OT networks, coordinating with internal engineers managing site work.
- Troubleshoot network issues, optimize performance, and ensure security.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain SCADA systems for all projects including defining data tags, ensuring consistency of data, securing reliable data storage, and facilitating access to data via visualization and data mining platforms.
- Establish and support internal and external visualization platforms.
- Develop and execute strategy for compliance with industry accepted cybersecurity standards, including 3rd party assessments, development and deployment of internal standards, and continued audit and maintenance of cybersecurity infrastructure.
- Risk management of updates to OT infrastructure.
- Build efficiencies and scalability of OT infrastructure in collaboration with Eneon technical leadership.
- Follow overall corporate goals related to Operational Technology, feature development, and budget; generate and execute on an overall resource deployment plan pertaining to OT.
- Collaborate on Software Product development, including scope definition, resource identification and allocation (internal and external), software development process, software launch, and establishment of long-term support. Examples of Software Products may include remote monitoring platforms or data mining capabilities.
- Participate in the design of the electrical system architecture, including instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, networking, power distribution, and protection, according to OT principles and best practices.
- Determine and execute on research and development testing requirements according to overall corporate goals, including the design of testing plans utilizing dedicated test equipment or platforms.
- Develop documentation to ensure all aspects of Operational Technology system development is preserved, including business continuity plans and network configurations.
- Collaborate closely with coworkers, associated businesses, and other parties as needed to tackle project and company goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of directly related experience to the above Responsibilities.
- Technical Degree from a registered post secondary institution in Computer Science, IT, Software, Controls, or related field.
- Expertise with Operational Technology, including deployment of network connected assets including modems, routers, IPCs, and PLCs.
- Expertise with SCADA systems, including management of large data sets, data acquisition systems, and remote server storage management.
- Understanding of cybersecurity protocols including assessment measures and best practices.
- Familiarity with associated programs, platforms, languages, and other tools (e.g., Ignition, Azure, SQL)
- Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve corporate and project goals.
- Ability to work within critical project timelines with minimal supervision.
- Continuous learning mindset; ability to adapt to and learn new technologies quickly.
- Willing and able to exercise the authority entrusted in order to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities.
- P.Eng. considered an asset.
