The Care Company is looking for awesome, self-driven and highly organized and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care to a complex paediatric home care client located in AJAX.
Shifts
8-9 hour shifts available, day and overnight shifts available, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule.
Ideal candidate has flexibility and is able to work day or overnight shifts
*Applicants must be available for in-person training sessions through our office and SickKids
Someone who can commit to the set schedule mentioned above with no interruptions to set weekly schedule for the foreseeable future
Requirements
General Duties and Responsibilities:
This client requires a nurse with a specific set of skills to provide care for the following interventions: PICC line, pain pump management, G-tube (meds), TPN feeds, oxygenation via NP \& suctioning
Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medication administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse
Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
Correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure clients health and well-being
must be able to commit to a consistent, on-going, weekly schedule
Nursing Requirements:
This client requires a nurse with a specific set of skills to provide care for the following interventions:

PICC Line care **experience is a MUST**

G-tubes (feeds and medication)

TPN feeds

IV infusion, meds/narcotics via IV push

DBS for dystonia seizures

oxygenation via NP \& suctioning
Other Requirements:
An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
Negative TB Test completed within the last year
CNO Registration
COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
Having previous Paediatric nursing experience is an asset
Having previous Palliative nursing experience is an asset
