Camp Douglas is looking for a Summer Director to lead our onsite camping ministry in July and August of 2025, overseeing daily operations and fostering a welcoming, faith-based environment. The campsite itself is located in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast of BC, is owned by the Presbytery of Westminster, and lies within the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands and waters of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation.
The purpose of Camp Douglas is to invite children, young people, and young adults into a personal exploration of the Christian faith, through play-based, child-led, relational children's ministry.
The Summer Director will reside on the Camp Douglas campsite from June 26 to August 25, 2025, actively lead the team through the daily schedule (Friday-Sunday), and remain on-call overnight and on weekends when minors are on-site. This role also includes 14 flexible preparation days prior to June 26, during which the director will participate in staff training, engage with the summer team, and host events such as the Parents' Q\&A evening. In addition, the director will prepare a report for the Camp Committee and Presbytery in September 2025, summarizing the summer operations.
