The position is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing and Production costing analysis and inventory, comparing standard costs to actual cost and identifying and explaining variances. This position must also work closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve variances and adjust Bills of Materials. In addition, the position will control and implement financial costing activities and assist in the day-to-day operations and activities of the Finance Department.
Review costing methodology and processes to ensure consistency and accuracy. Update material, labour and overhead standard costs annually or as required. Reviews all new stock code setups, bills of materials and routings for accuracy to upload into ERP.
Provides analytical support for ad-hoc requests on proposed changes to the material, process speeds, labour, scrap rates, etc. Prepare, analyze and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer and part number. Ensure timely completion and analysis of cost of goods sold, including labour, material, and production costs (maintenance/tool \& die, etc.).
Review and investigate work order variances and material variances (PPV). Review monthly inventory adjustments \& cycle count reports for large variances. Review Slow Moving and
No Activity reports for potential write offs. Ensure un-saleable and discontinued items are disposed of, written off or reserved as appropriate. Finance Rep for Inventory Management \& Control -- assist in regular physical inventories to ensure accurate raw material and finished goods inventory counts and balance sheet integrity.
Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and all account reconciliations related to role. Assist in all internal/external audits, as needed. Engage with accounting team and other departments to ensure proper accounting methods and understand the business needs of other departments as it pertains to accounting transactions and reports.
Other tasks/special projects as assigned by the Controller and/or General Manager. TMGNY Job Requirements: Business Degree with a major in accounting.
Chartered Accountant (CPA) preferred. Minimum of five (5) years previous standard cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience with ERP Systems required.
A detail-oriented self-starter who is positive, self-motivated, organized, analytical with attention to detail and accuracy. Must be process driven and possess strong analytical skills. Strong knowledge of cost and financial accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Ability to collect, compile and quickly interpret product data. Problem solving skills, ability to recognize potential problems. Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet established deadlines. Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Office Applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Proven ability to work cross functionally, with customer driven focus and sense of urgency. Apply
