Program Overview
The JVS Integrated Employment Services (IES) , funded by MLITSD and managed by WCG, provides employment services to unemployed individuals of all ages, financial backgrounds and skills to help them gain and retain employment within their field or a related field. To achieve its goal, the program provides a range of services including one-on-one employment counselling, employment workshops, job development/placement services and job retention supports. In addition, IES collaborates with other programs to ensure efficient and smooth operations through streamlining client referrals to appropriate services.
We're looking for someone who will:
• Facilitate interactive, engaging job search related workshops based on the existing curriculum and deliver information sessions and labour market orientation
• Develop new and refine existing modules as needed to facilitate workshops online to job seekers of all ages
• Conduct follow-up appointments with clients who require additional support after group sessions
• Provide effective professional services to support client needs in producing high quality resumes, cover letter and LinkedIn profiles in a timely manner
• Keep meticulous records and conduct timely data entry
• Collaborate with other internal programs and teams to ensure the ongoing relevance and alignment of workshop content with current labour market trends and program goals
• Refine and update workshop modules as needed, ensuring materials are current, inclusive, and accessible
• Contribute to the development of new workshop content based on client needs, feedback, and emerging employment trends
Minimum Qualifications \& Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling or Social Services with placement experience, or a related degree with 3-5 years of counselling experience. International degrees must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency.
• 2 years of proven group facilitation experience; experience in curriculum development and online program delivery; proven ability to motivate and train professionals from diverse backgrounds including newcomer professionals
• Strong skills and expertise in on-line facilitation and service delivery
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively deal with internationally trained professionals and people from various cultural backgrounds; sensitivity to diversity
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of current local labour market trends, community services and resources across the GTA
• Computer literate; knowledge of various databases with a proven ability to learn agency-used systems
