Job description
We are looking for a RIBO licensed personal lines underwriter to evaluate applicants for insurance and recommend the appropriate action to take on that level of risk. You will work closely with the Producers who have direct access to the clients.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze applicants' data
- Evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing
- Identifies and obtains additional information required to conduct a proper analysis of risk
- Keeping up on industry knowledge (Products and Software).
- Evaluate software-based recommendations
- Research applicants as necessary
- Authorize transmittal of documents to brokers and markets as required
- Prepares and maintains periodic reports pertinent to the ongoing operation
- Provides advice and expertise on underwriting issues
- Back up reception as necessary
Qualifications:
- Have superior verbal and written skills
- Be an analytical thinker
- Be a good decision maker
- RIBO License
- 1 years underwriting experience
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Professional telephone manner
- Develops and maintains productive working relationships with peers, clients, and industry networks
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
- Maintain a positive attitude, a team player, and self --directed
- Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Powerbroker and Compu-Quote an asset but not required
