Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing financial activities and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This person will handle month-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, budget assistance, reporting, and analysis. We are looking for someone who has experience in the manufacturing industry and thrives in a collaborative, detail-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead key aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with GAAP and manufacturing accounting standards.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in budget preparation and assist with annual forecasting efforts.
- Generate financial reports and support leadership with insightful analysis to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and systems, focusing on efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and ERP system maintenance.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting to address business queries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Pursuing a CPA or equivalent certification preferred (but not required).
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific accounting practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.) required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience assisting with budgeting, reporting, and analysis is highly desirable.
