Position Overview: The Commodity Manager will oversee $57M in materials across 20 manufacturing sites in North America and China. This role leads a team of six based in Shenzhen, China, and serves as a key liaison between ABG Corporate, ABG Shenzhen, and strategic suppliers. The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, optimizing total cost of ownership, and managing supplier relationships, with a focus on shower door components and finished goods.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans across assigned categories. Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and long-term agreements with a focus on cost, quality, and risk mitigation. Lead and mentor a remote team in Shenzhen, driving collaboration and performance.
Analyze emerging market supplier capabilities, particularly in China and other low-cost countries. Support new product introductions through cross-functional collaboration with R\&D, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics. Implement cost optimization initiatives such as RFPs, supplier consolidation, e-auctions, and raw material index agreements.
Conduct market analysis, peer benchmarking, and supplier risk assessments. Ensure accurate pricing and data maintenance across multiple ERP systems. Investigate and resolve pricing/invoicing discrepancies with Accounts Payable.
Work closely with Logistics to optimize freight costs and sourcing patterns. Contribute to process improvements, policy implementation, and procurement governance. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
MBA, CPSM, or related certifications preferred.7 years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, or supply chain roles, including 2 years of managing remote teams. Strong knowledge of Chinese supply markets and business culture. Proficiency in English; Mandarin is a strong asset.
Expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiations, and contract management. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
