A trusted distributor of medical equipment and supplies across the province is hiring a Bilingual Human Resources Specialist to support the growth and success of our dedicated team. This role plays a key part in HR operations, talent management, and employee engagement initiatives across both English and French-speaking teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers in both English and French.
- Lead or assist with HR initiatives such as policy updates, training sessions, wellness programs, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Actively supports managers with employee development and performance improvement activities, including development plans, performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, and escalation of performance concerns through disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
- Works with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the company's recruitment process.
- Supports employee leave program, manages claims of workplace injury or illness, conducts workplace investigations including workplace harassment, and violence, and assists with matters of employee accommodation in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with provincial labour laws and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
Requirements
EDUCATION \& TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- CHRP designation (or working toward) is considered an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE \& ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- 3 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably in a healthcare, logistics, or regulated environment.
- Proven experience handling bilingual HR communications and documentation.
- Experience supporting multi-site teams and diverse workforces.
SKILLS \& COMPETENCIES
- Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written) is required.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential information.
