Michael lab is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to support ongoing research projects in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer Research. We are looking for a motivated individual who has hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and in vivo mouse models. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to innovative scientific discoveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and cloning.
- Conduct mammalian cell culture experiments, including maintenance, transfection, and cell-based assays.
- Handle and work with mouse models (mandatory), including genotyping, injections, surgeries, and tissue dissection.
- Perform histology procedures, including sectioning and immunostaining for paraffin-embedded and fresh frozen specimens.
- Assist in data collection and analysis.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with researchers and provide technical support for ongoing projects whenever necessary.
- Manage regular laboratory duties such as organizing and stocking reagents, consumables, and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in CRISPR gene editing, flow cytometry, and microscopy is an asset.
- Previous research experience in oncology, neuroscience, or immunology is a plus
Qualifications \& Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field (Master's degree preferred but not required).
- Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, cloning, and mammalian cell culture.
- Mandatory experience in mouse handling, including injections, tissue collection, and genotyping.
- Experience with histology techniques and immunostaining (most desirable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced research environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
