Position: Construction Safety Officer

Salary Range: $22-25/hour+ vacation and benefits
Description
We are looking for a Construction Safety Officer that will be responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations and protocols are strictly followed on construction sites. This person will conduct regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents and injuries. This role also includes providing training to workers on safety procedures, maintaining safety records, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect workplaces to ensure equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety hazard to employees or the general public.
- Implement and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed on site.
- Provide site orientations to new workers/ visitors.
- Conduct Toolbox and site safety meetings for site staff.
- Take appropriate action to correct unsafe acts or conditions.
Qualifications
- Experience in multi-family residential construction.
- Valid First Aid
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Must be able to commit to full-time employment.
- Organized and responsible.
- Be able to commute to and from work.
- Strong knowledge of OHS regulations.
- Computer proficient.
