About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance \& Strategy, the Finance Intern will play a critical role in supporting PointsBet's continued growth and success.
This role requires an understanding of sports betting, online casinos. We are looking for exceptional analytical skills, strong collaboration capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement:Assist with the development and documentation of Finance department policies, procedures and best practices.
- Audit Support:Support the Senior Accountant with preparing documents, responses and other materials for external and internal auditors.
- Month-End and Year Close:Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Financial Reporting:Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Reconciliations:Perform reconciliation of bank statements and financial transactions.
- Data Analysis:Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
- Invoice Processing:Review and verify the accuracy of vendor invoices, payment details and ensure timely payments.
- Ad Hoc Tasks:Assist with ad-hoc finance-related tasks and projects.
Skills We Seek:
- Knowledge of sports betting and online casinos is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong work ethic and someone who is accountable, works smart, and pushes self and others for results.
- Critical thinker, attentive to detail and highly organized.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and is effective in a variety of communication settings (i.e., one to one, small and large groups, and among diverse styles and position levels).
- Innovative and comes up with useful ideas that are new, better, or unique.
- A self-directed learner who takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
