Job Description
Child and Youth Workers support students in skill development, self-management, and problem-solving to improve academic achievement. Programs are developed to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Develop and provide individual behaviour management programs for students in consultation with the classroom teacher.
- Provide assistance for students in the acquisition, reinforcement, and maintenance of academic, communication, and social skills.
- Provide services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Can be assigned to individual students through SIP grants.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Child \& Youth Worker Diploma
Minimum of one year experience
Experience working with children and youth requiring additional educational supports from diverse ethno-cultural and racial backgrounds.
Child \& Youth Care Degree and Membership in the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counselors are assets.

Additional Information
Rate of Pay: $40.89 per hour
Schedule: Up to 7 hours per day between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
