We are looking for a skilled and experienced Strategic Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of goods and services necessary for the company, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. You will play a key role in supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and driving procurement strategies. Ideally, we are seeking candidates with experience in transport, aerospace, automotive, or related industries.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic sourcing process for goods and services required by the company.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the company.
- Manage and develop strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Analyze market trends and supply chain dynamics to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define purchasing needs and specifications.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or cost.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department.
- Support the risk management process by evaluating potential supplier risks and mitigating them.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement performance and strategic initiatives to senior management.
Profile Requirements:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Strategic Buyer, preferably in transport, aerospace, automotive, or related industries.
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts and driving strategic procurement initiatives.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and evaluating supplier performance.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Procurement (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to assess complex procurement issues.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Language:
- Proficiency in English and French.
