The Quality Assurance Associate will log, investigate, and review all complaints and conduct internal audits to ensure that all procedures are followed at all times.
Be a Technical Resource / Support for Customers
- Provide timely and accurate technical support to customers (both external and internal), including answering technical questions about chemical identity and purity from email inquiries, phone calls, and participating in telephone conferences.
- Work closely with other departments (QC, shipping, customer service, etc.) to find the requisite information.
- Send selected analytical data to customers when needed.
- When necessary, initiate testing requests to ensure stock quality has not been compromised and to provide satisfactory responses to customer queries.
- Determine the purity, identity, and quality of materials based on the tests performed and choose appropriate additional testing to support this.
- Escalate issues to appropriate departments and the supervisor/manager when necessary.
- Utilize 2D NMR and other techniques to assign proton and carbon peaks with the corresponding structure based on customer requests.
- Conduct communication in a professional manner.
Maintain NCR Database
- Log and review complaints, compile required documents for the evaluation of complaints.
- Initiate Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations.
- Provide investigation feedback to the necessary departments together with conclusions and recommendations, if applicable.
- Close the complaints when corrective actions have been implemented by the respective departments.
- Provide information on open complaints, provide trend data, and escalate issues when necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- M.Sc. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry -- or equivalent Industry experience.
- Working experience at TRC will be beneficial.
- Highly detail-oriented with solid organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to "figure things out," understand workflow and suggest improvements in accordance with appropriate metrics.
- Self-directed and motivated with ability to handle multiple tasks and synthesize disparate information.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly to changing needs.
- Customer service oriented.
- Performance driven with an understanding of how to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
