PUBR 3860 - Government Public Relations

Course Description: In this course, students explore the critical role strategic public relations plays as organizations seek to inform and influence government policy-making processes and outcomes as well as examining the public relations function within government. Students will monitor current issues facing organizations; examine the theory, practice and context of government relations; and understand what it takes to create and manage an effective government relations program.

Qualifications
- Master's degree min. in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or adjacent fields.
- A min. three years industry experience.
- Capacity to work cooperatively across multiple sections of a course.
- Experience having taught at the post-secondary level within Public Relations or adjacent fields for a min. of 1 semester.

- Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outlines, other course materials, course activities, lesson preparation and assessments, and course learning management systems.

About the Faculty of Business, Communication Studies and Aviation
The Faculty of Business, Communication Studies \& Aviation comprises the Bissett School of Business, the School of Communication Studies and the Aviation Program. The Bissett School of Business offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with majors in accounting, human resources, general management (with concentrations in innovation and entrepreneurship, social innovation). Students in the Bissett School of Business can take a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. The Aviation Program is housed in the Department of International Business, Supply Chain and Aviation and offers a two-year Aviation Diploma and the newly launched four-year Bachelor of Aviation Management.
