About the Job: -
Responsible for the preparation, delivery, and cleanliness of food service in the employee cafeteria.
- Job Title: Cafeteria Attendant (Part Time - Weekends)
- Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef
- Department: Kitchen/Cafeteria
- Availability: Part Time (Weekends)
Starting Wage for the position will be CA$19.86 on probation and will increase to CA$24.82 after probation is completed. Further after 6 months the rate will increase to CA$25.57
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years cooking experience in a Hotel or related industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of guests, employees and management.
- Good organizational and problem solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift weight up to 70 pounds.
- Safe Food Handling certification.
Daily Tasks
- To operate staff cafeteria in accordance with the provided task list.
- Providing staff with excellent service and courtesy.
- Retrieving using a cart, food products for cafeteria from the kitchen and ensuring they are set up on the buffet in the cafeteria.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area, cupboards, counters, tables, chairs, equipment and dish racks. Ensure proper methods of rotation and utilization of food at all times.
- Complete adherence to Board of Health regulations, Food Safe, Workers' Compensation regulations, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System regulations, hotel conduct polices and that of the Collective Agreement.
- Ensuring all storage areas are secured during absences from cafeteria.
- Ensuring proper stock of dishware and equipment are kept on hand at all times. Ensuring soiled products including linens are returned for cleaning and are in an organized manner using a cart.
- Must communicate via supervisors, any deficiencies or discrepancies including but not limited to equipment repairs, shortages, spoilage, people, hotel or department deviations.
- Following the contractor policy with regards to the use and eating in cafeteria.
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the Management.
