We are seeking a full-time Account Executive to join our growing team and support our clients with smart and strategic media relations, influencer relations and social media. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for supporting a portfolio of clients and promoting them to their target audiences. An influencer of public opinion, you grow brands and help drive sales through a range of PR tools such as news items, press releases, events and activations, product placement and social media activity, always with a creative lens. This role is an integral part of our team, and you will be working alongside senior leaders to shape your clients' reputation and profile.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Write press releases, pitches, media briefing documents, case studies and weekly recap emails
- Pitch press releases and feature ideas to national, regional and local media across print, broadcast and online
- Develop new angles, stories and pitches to further the client's profile, products and services
- Respond to phone calls and emails from journalists in a timely and professional manner
- Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients' spokespeople - in person or over the phone - and facilitate these meetings where appropriate
- Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients
- Attend client events and support with event management, set up, check in and tear down
- Coordinate influencer campaigns: research influencer partners and develop presentations, with support of Account Manager
- Support clients' social media accounts, creating and posting content
- Deliver analytics reports for social media clients, reporting on traffic, engagement and follower figures
- Brainstorm creative ideas for PR campaigns
- Track, clip, and log coverage of client campaigns
- Develop meeting agendas and produce follow up notes with action items
- Develop workbacks and coverage trackers
- Be involved in pitching for new business and developing PR proposals with the support of the senior team
- Write campaign briefs and shot lists for partner suppliers (influencers, photographers, videographers)
- Support client photo shoots on site
- Update and maintain client budgets
- Fulfill key performance indicators
- Build client relationships and maintain a network of media contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople
- Manage a high level of client interaction, easily moving from one client to another
Qualifications and Skills
- 2-3 years prior experience working in a PR agency, or fast-paced media environment
- A keen interest in the media industry and understanding of the media landscape in Canada
- Experience writing press releases and press pitches is a must
- A relevant undergraduate degree such as PR, journalism or communications is preferred
- Excellent writing skills: error-free and grammatically correct press releases, media pitches, social content, client communication, etc
- Incredibly detailed oriented and highly organized
- Presentation skills: From communicating ideas to your team to presenting stories to journalists, you can to organize information in a succinct and interesting way, and feel comfortable updating and presenting information to clients
- An ability to work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality
- Excellent media skills and existing relationships with contacts in lifestyle, food, wine and fashion PR across Western Canada (knowledge of eastern Canada also appreciated)
- Capability to work collaboratively and contribute in a team environment in positive ways

Compensation
55-60k/year
