Day-to-day:
Insight Global is looking for a Fitted Welder to join a prominent utility company based out ofBritish Columbia. This is an 5-days a week onsite unionized role for the utility company. This group handles responses to emergencies on all pipelines from Whistler to Hope BC. Starting their mornings at the Burnaby shop, the welders are deployed to various locations to respond to pipeline emergencies, provide installation services, fix compromised pipelines, and more along the pressure piping and vessel systems along with non-pressure components.
Must Haves:
- 3-5 years of Welding Pressure Piping Systems or Pipeline Welding Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Shield Metal Welding (SMAW), Arc Welding, or Stick Welding
- Has experience testing and qualifying to CSA Standard Z662 and above average proficiency in oxyacetylene welding
- Has experience interpreting engineering drawings, preparing welding components and pressure testing of complete assemblies and sub-assemblies to determine weld and joint integrity
- Has their Certification Level B Welding Ticket (Journeyman Ticket) or equivalent from other provinces
- Has their Class 5 BC Driving License
- Previous experience in the oil and gas/utility industry
