Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description:
- This job is approx. 30-40% in field for site visits
- Reserve funds, retrofit projects and upgrades, emergency generators
- Complete approximately 5-10 site visits weekly, primarily within the GTA (within a 30 km radius of the office).
- Respond to emergency situations as they arise
- Perform thorough audits on construction quality, identifying issues such as missing design elements, need for retrofits, and necessary modifications.
- Review building layouts, consult with design drawings, and assess site conditions.
- Making recommendations to clients for upgrading electrical equipment or systems
- Preparing tender specifications and performing bid analysis
- Providing senior-level technical oversight and support, and coordination of project work
- Lead others and mentor, plan, assign and supervise the work of junior staff (EIT)
Must have working knowledge of:
- Canadian Electrical Code
- Ontario Electrical Safety Code 24th Edition
- CSA, C282-05 Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings
- CAN/ULC-S524-06 Installation of Fire Alarm Systems
- Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Experience working with medium and high-voltage systems above 750v
- Strong technical report writing skill
- Drafting proposals and scope of work documentation
Requirements:
- P. Eng designation in Ontario is a Must
- Industry experience - Construction and Restoration
- Experience with codes is mandatory
- Knowledge with fire safety systems would be a plus
- Lives locally
- Someone that wants to mentor a junior
- Valid driver's license and vehicle
