Job Description:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing support by ensuring products meet all standards of presentation and quality. The Quality Engineer is responsible for the development of inspection systems within APQP, inspection data for PPAP submissions, internal defect analysis, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continual improvement activities. This position will utilize Microsoft Office programs and Minitab software. The individual will need to be able to put reports together and review them with the management team. Review accuracy of process documentation and update as needed. Participate in customer focus meetings. They will also need to be able to use time management and multi-tasking abilities to prioritize competing demands with attention to detail.
Duties \& Responsibilities:
- Interact with customers as required to manage quality performance and other issues regarding part quality
- Manage process change with the customer
- Follow non-conforming part procedure to identify and isolate defective material
- Communicate with production and management of non-conformance through resolution
- Act as a leader in cross functional problem solving, CAR's and continuous improvement teams and activities
- Support launch activities including completion of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process flow and attend APQP activities including schedules and suppliers
- Maintain 5S Expectations
- Support Company health and safety policies
- Support lab activities as required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Technical degree in the field of Quality or Engineering
- A minimum of 3 years experience of Quality in an Automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience in PPAP and APQP processes
- Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced environment
- Experience with customer interaction including corrective actions and change control
- Experience with interpreting drawings including GD\&T
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with stamping processes considered an asset
- Superior attention to detail in all areas of work
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
