Helping Owner-Managed Businesses Recruit Financial Executives | Author of "The Owner-Manager's Guide to Hiring a CFO"
Our client is a privately-owned company in the security devices industry. The Controller is an integral member of the management team and will be a key contributor to the growth of a successful, progressive organization. This position reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Financial analysis, forecasting, reporting; budget management, cash flow analysis, payroll management.
- Build and create with the owners short and long-term KPIs to guide the company's growth, define success for various business and finance processes.
- Lead the preparation of periodic financial statements.
- Develop, maintain, and be responsible for internal financial controls, reporting policies, and procedures.
- Actively monitor and analyze financial and operational performance, oversee cost reduction opportunities, and provide analysis for cost planning and decision-making.
- Manage business planning and forecast processes; prepare the corporate financial business plan to leverage strategic opportunities.
- Assist owners in managing relationships with banks, lawyers, external auditors, key suppliers/vendors; protect the financial position of the company.
Education and Experience:
- University degree in accounting; an accredited professional accounting designation is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of broad and progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting.
- Deep knowledge of compliance and internal control.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communication, and presentation skills; ability to interpret complex financial information for non-financial audiences.
- Professional demeanor with regard to duties, responsibilities, ethics, and professional judgment.
- Proactive in identifying problems and finding solutions.
