We are seeking an experienced EWIS Engineer to lead and coordinate electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) design and integration for aircraft modifications and new developments. This role involves technical project coordination, production support, and in-service issue resolution, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and optimizing wiring system performance.
You will get to further your skills in the following areas:
- The design and development of aerospace electrical systems.
- Creating conceptual layouts for new designs and modifications.
- Defining space requirements for wire harness routing and integration.
- Producing wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and harness data reports while adhering to EMI/HIRF/Lightning protection and EWIS regulations.
- Selecting components such as connectors, back shells, and wiring components based on technical specifications and vendor research.
- Ensuring all designs meet EWIS regulations and relevant TCCA, FAA, and EASA compliance \& certification requirements.
- Developing and managing certification-related documentation for EWIS compliance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and compatible designs.
- Supporting manufacturing, integration, and testing processes, resolving design and assembly challenges.
- Analyzing existing wiring diagrams and harness reports to recommend improvements.
- Maintaining configuration control and traceability of EWIS documentation.
Qualifications \& Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5 years of experience in wiring and harness design for aerospace applications.
- Extensive knowledge of 3D CAD systems, ideally Catia or similar.
- Familiarity with TCCA, FAA, and EASA regulatory requirements.
- Strong background in configuration and document control.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate with external partners.
