Reporting directly to the Vice President -- Sales \& Marketing, ASCO's Business Development Manager implements the Company's marketing and sales efforts, identifies business opportunities, builds key customer relationships, and secures work in growing market segments to fuel the growth of the Company.
The Business Development Manager works closely with senior management, district managers, the estimating team, and key proposal stakeholders to develop proposals and responses to Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Prequalification (RFQ) in accordance with mandatory RFQ/RFQ requirements while ensuring timely delivery.
Some of the responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include:
- Implementing strategic marketing and business development initiatives, including maintaining our online presence on social media.
- Searching for and securing leads to proposals and bid opportunities.
- Screening Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Prequalification (RFQ) to determine feasibility and challenges.
- Writing effective marketing content for RFPs, RFQs, marketing/promotional material, and the company website.
- Networking with existing and potential clients and partners.
- Maintaining a database of project opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining a proposal content database, ensuring proper tracking and maintenance of proposal materials.
Candidates should:
- Possess a minimum of 10 years' experience in corporate sales and business development.
- Hold a Business Administration, Sales \& Marketing, or Construction / Architecture / Engineering post-secondary degree.
- Experience with P3, Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery is an asset.
- Have an excellent knowledge of the local market and an established network of corporate clients and business partners in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Have an excellent understanding of the construction industry and construction management processes.
- Possess excellent communication skills in English (oral and written); French is an asset.
- Be able to read, understand, and interpret RFP and RFQ documents.
- Have a strong working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM.
- Be willing to travel and possess a valid driving license.
