Alstom, as part of the ONxpress consortium, is transforming mobility in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, which includes electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications, digital systems, and maintenance.
We are hiring a Sr. Construction Manager responsible for leading construction activities in accordance with project methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate internally within Alstom, with other LPPs, and all external stakeholders.
- Implement progress monitoring and compare with planned durations and productivity.
- Consolidate data from all constructors to manage work scheduling.
- Report construction progress to the OPC Director and Alstom Project Management.
- Keep detailed records of all activities and events in work areas.
- Manage communication with external stakeholders and ensure documentation availability.
- Enforce adherence to Health and Safety and Environmental Plans.
- Train all field personnel on HSE requirements.
- Monitor compliance with Project Quality Documentation.
- Coordinate Testing and Commissioning activities.
- Prepare and present the financial budget for the Construction Management group.
- Review project schedules and assess impacts of changes.
- Coordinate with Area Construction Managers and Track Access Teams.
Educational Requirements
Mandatory: Technician or Engineer degree or equivalent experience.
Desirable: Master in Project Management, Site EHS Management certification.
Experience
Mandatory: 10+ years railway experience, major Brownfield Railway Construction project experience, cost and planning control, EHS background.
Desirable: Familiarity with Metrolinx processes, PTS training.
