The Position: (Contract)
We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist Accounting to backfill for 2 months. In this fast-paced department, the primary responsibilities involved in this role include Financial Reporting, Accounting process analysis and implementation, AR management and GL Reconciliation. The incumbent will also be required to assist with various tasks related to month-end closing as well as quarterly that inform annual audits.
What you're responsible for:
- Manage FI month-end closing schedule and perform necessary reconciliations and analysis complete GFIS submission
- Complete HQ Financial Reports including FSCS (Financial Self Control System), GCPS (Global Consolidated Package), ICMS (Internal Control Management), and FHC (Financial Health Check)
- Liaison with the external auditor (PwC) and follow up / complete items on PBC list (prepared by client)
- Support and provide analysis for the Risk Management Team with accounting related items
- Cooperate with Operating teams for the accounting process review and implementation as requested
- GL Reconciliations, analysis and reporting as required by management and HQ
- Daily AR Clearing/Cash Applications and process improvement through mentoring/training AR Specialists
- Owner of the Recycling Process: Collect \& validate e-waste collection fees on customer invoices and make submission to recycling organization on monthly basis
- Provide updated recycling program to Business Operation Centre, Credit department, Pricing team and also Sales team to provide guidance on EHF process
- Monitor recycling programs in SAP with pricing team to make sure correct pricing is reflected on customer invoice
- Liaison with the recycling auditors on provincial recycling remittance and complete requested items
- Back up for fixed asset and cash management process
- Ad hoc reports as required
To join our team:
- University degree (Business Administration, Commerce or Accounting) preferred
- Enrollment in CPA is an asset
- 3-5 years in an accounting role
- Experience with an ERP system (preferably SAP) is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP (SAP preferable)
- Knowledge of IFRS
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines and month-end overtime with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to plan, organize, collaborate and work on multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and manage competing priorities
