The Medical Technologist/Clinical Research Assistant reports to the Manager, Clinical Support. The role involves providing clinical support to the clinic and Clinical Research Coordinators before, during, and after patient visits.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding clinical procedures for studies to ensure protocol compliance;
- Supporting Clinical Research Coordinators and investigators with various tasks such as preparing materials, supporting patient visits, answering patient questions, performing blood draws, ECGs, blood pressure measurements, TEWL, medical photography, skin biopsies, and managing documentation and quality control;
- Managing medication logistics and follow-up of laboratory and ECG reports;
- Supporting specimen processing and shipping, maintaining equipment and safety protocols, and following SOPs and training records.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: College degree as a medical technologist and license for blood draws.
Experience: At least 3 years in nursing, with clinical research experience preferred.
Skills: Organization, autonomy, bilingualism, basic office software knowledge, and familiarity with GCP, Health Canada, and FDA regulations.
