Overview
An Electrical Foreman is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders. This includes assigning tasks, ensuring high-quality installation, performing quality inspections, monitoring task completion and compliance, and preventing safety issues.
Responsibilities
- Productivity planning for the assigned scope of work.
- Material phasing: organizing materials by specific areas/floors and tracking inventories.
- Tools \& equipment management: identifying required tools, assigning gang boxes, inspecting, and tracking tools via signing sheets.
- Preparing information packages: including drawings, schedules, and cut sheets for each crew activity.
- Controlling breaks and managing loss time.
- Submitting daily hour/unit reports for crews.
- Conducting quality control inspections following established plans and checklists.
- Ensuring work is installed professionally and to high standards.
- Maintaining and updating as-built drawings weekly.
- Inventory management of tools \& equipment, with accountability and security, including weekly inspection sheets.
- Reporting lost/stolen/damaged tools.
- Reviewing and signing off on all AHA's related to the scope of work, stored at gang boxes.
- Submitting weekly equipment inspection sheets.
- Reporting and investigating accidents/incidents within 24 hours.
- Ensuring cleanup and leaving work areas broom-swept daily.
Quality of Work
- Ensuring installation complies with codes, contractual obligations, and quality policies.
- Implementing the Project Quality Plan and documenting deviations.
- Participating in QAQC processes, including inspections and discrepancy notices.
- Reviewing quality scorecards and addressing systemic issues.
- Participating in design reviews for constructability issues.
Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School diploma or GED.
- 4 years of experience with an Associate degree.
Abilities
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 60 feet.
- Good vision and communication skills.
- Ability to recognize problems and apply rules to solve them.
- Detail-oriented with good observational skills.
