The Opportunity
Our Asset Reliability Engineering team is expanding in Calgary to support operations and reliability engineering. We seek an Electrical Engineer with experience in high voltage substations and medium voltage power distribution systems. Join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to operations in Canada and the US.
What You Will Do
- Ensure reliable operation of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
- Collaborate with field operations and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve electrical issues, considering safety, regulations, practicality, and costs.
- Provide electrical expertise for risk assessment and solutions.
- Identify opportunities for reliability improvements and cost reductions.
- Lead change management from inception to implementation.
- Develop construction work packages and implementation plans.
- Create maintenance and repair scopes, and lead engineering studies.
- Develop operating procedures and lifecycle plans focusing on reliability.
- Make decisions on greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Develop specifications and standards for operations and projects.
- Oversee third-party engineering to ensure quality and compliance.
- Travel within US and Canada.
- Work with utility partners to ensure power reliability.
- Develop electrical equipment reliability strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with P.Eng.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
- Experience with HV substations, protection, control, MV switchgear, and MCCs.
- Knowledge of policies, codes, standards for Canadian and US facilities.
- Experience with risk assessment and quantitative analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with operational assets.

- Current, valid authorization for international travel (Canada, US).
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
